The X2 Programmer's Editor is
a text mode editor that is designed to make the code writing process as fast
and easy as possible. There are versions available for
OS/2,
DOS,
Windows NT/95/XP/Vista,
Linux,
AIX and
Sun Solaris.
All versions include:
The ability to selectively exclude and show file lines
Syntax highlighting of comments and keywords
Rexx macro support (not available in the DOS version)
A maximum line length of 50000 characters
Display and edit of binary files
An unlimited Undo/Redo stack
Ring and Function navigation windows
Easy user customisation for new filetypes and different key bindings
Long filename support (not available in the DOS version)
Saved session information (not available in the DOS version)
Editing information saved between sessions
Keystroke recording and playback
X2 and Rexx together can make a very powerful combination. For example,
Rexx macros are available to turn X2 into a Usenet news reader or a POP mail client.
